Let it snow

Well it was nice to enjoy another long weekend. It all started on Thursday when I came to work and found this car in the lobby. Friday I took some personal time which my body drastically needed but started a wieght lifting program with Lincoln. Saturday on the other hand started at 5:45 in the morning when I rounded up some buds and headed off to Lake Louise. My good friend Tyler Crowe from the peg is out for for a week and decided to join us. When we got there my friend Chris realized that he forgot his ski pants, and was forced to go the sports store at the hill and proceeded to buy some way over priced North Face pants.

The weather could not have been better, around 0 degrees and hardly any wind. The only problem was that there was only one "real" run open and everybody was on it. It was really icy by around noon and the temptation to leave got drastically bigger. We lasted till about 1 and then ran for the car. I will have to wait for another day for some pow and some more runs but winter has just begun and I am not too worried.

Sunday was yet another great day, as a bunch of co-opers went to see the Stampeders play in the first game of the playoffs. The stamps did not do so well but we made up for it. I was graced by the presence of Danielle, which was great! I managed to get into the grounds with my backpack full of bear, because as we walked in the attendants were going through Santa's bag and were too consumed with that to bother checking the nice little Mennonite's bag. Needless to say I was every bodies best friend, but hey isn't it always like that? After the game Danielle and I met up with Tyler and another pegger Matt Henke, and all headed for the Keg to warm up a little and to get some eats.

All in all another stellar weekend was had by all and I can't wait till the next.

Wingmen and safaris

Well I have been a little busy lately and have not posted as many updates as I should have been.

To start it off, two weekends ago Ryan Weibe had come out to spend some time out here and see what all the hub-blub was about. Well let me tell you, it was good to have a wingman again. The weekend was filled with all sorts of goodies, mostly going out and Ryan keeping his eye on me and me keeping my eye on him. We started with Cowboys again Thursday night and of course that is draft night. .25 cent draft leads to a little craziness. The next morning was a little slow to start but did get going. We went to a few motorcycle shops and got some food help steady the whole thing. That night at Cowboys, I did manage to find one of the weirdest girls in Calgary. It all started normal enough and we were chatting them up, when Ryan and I soon were told that one of them had FOUR Bret Farve tattoos. Well that sort of put a damper on things…..
Ryan gave me a day off for one of the weekend days, he went to the mountains to get a little R and R which gave me a little chance to catch my breathe. Ryan said it has been a while since he has hit the bar, but I have say the good old Manitoba boy really didn’t forget how things were done, and I was really proud of my bro.
The next weekend was Halloween and that was another gong show. First off I played in a volleyball tournament during the days, I think I had a total of 23 games, and on Saturday night we all went to another Coop students house for a keg party. The costumes were unbelievable and everybody put their best foot forward. Again Sebastien and I stole the show by being two of the most beautiful girls at this party, but alas, we didn’t find any cute men (thank goodness!). The kegs ran dry around 11 and the party quickly dispersed. It’s funny how cheap beer will keep guests around and how quickly they leave when there is none. I was too tired and went home but the gang continued to another shell employees apartment for “continuing education”.

This weekend I would have to say is off to an amazing start! Yesterday one of the shell girls had a birthday so the plan was to go to Ranchman’s and do a little two stepping (of which I can’t) but the birthday girl bailed (apparently she was sick) and the group moved to a closer venue called Cowboys. Well my cousin Lincoln was nice enough to borrow me some clothes and let me tell you IT IS ALL ABOUT THE CLOTHES. Not too far into the evening I was at the bar, and it felt like I was a little bunny rabbit in the midst of the jungle. A pack of ravishing, starved cougars had approached and the chase was on! I was darting, dashing, jumping over tree’s and hiding in caves to avoid getting eaten by this pack of animals. At one point my little bunny legs grew too tired and I could not escape the inevitable. They had me surrounded and I saw my demise in the reflection of their eyes. Upon looking around and seeing which one was going to take the first byte I saw my escape route. Amongst the beasts there was one, little, amazing, cute kitty cat who was with these savage much older cats and I knew if I could go that route they would stop snarling and they would try to find their meal in another part of the forest. (Ferocious Cougar left, little cute kitty right)

Now this cute little kitty is called Danielle, and we hit it off from the get go. There was some dancing and frolicking through the forest. The cougar club had moved on and I was free to let my guard down for awhile which was a good thing. You will have to wait for another post to find out the out come of this forest adventure that had almost taken my life, but I have to say the sun is shinning and there are no clouds in site.
